A few weeks ago, the Council of Riverside and the Ministry Team Leads had a retreat to continue to live our way into the new model of leadership and governance. It was a good discussion of our current reality and goals moving forward.
One of the realizations is that in this time of transition and change there are varying levels of understanding what is happening and where all the pieces and activities of the congregation fit into the new model. The picture is still evolving and all the details are not yet sorted and that is intentional part of the design. We are working at developing new ways of being as we attempt to spend less time in meetings, more short term project groupings and delegation of decision making to ministry teams. So, we are living into the model and so please ask questions and share ideas. If there is something you would like to be involved with, let me know and we will find where it fits.
As summer beckons, many of us will find a change in the routine or rhythm of our lives. I trust that each of us will find some renewal and re-creation – whether that is known through travel, through spending time at a cottage, going to camp, enjoying the sunsets or not having as many meetings.
