The calendar marches on into April. I love the month of April. The earth awakes from winter. The days get longer and warmer. There will still be a snow storm or two, but April snow is so different from November snow.
This year all of April is part of the Easter season as we celebrate the wonder and gift of new life at various levels. Sunday worship in April will vary in time (see calendar of events), style and theme as we seek to grasp the good news of hope and life that comes even out of death.
The Messy Church theme for April 14 is Walk with Me and is based on the Emmaus Road story. Those two discouraged, grieving followers of Jesus found new energy and hope as they experienced the Risen Christ walking with them. The story is mystical and it is metaphorical. As we live through this coming month may Holy Energy walk with us giving peace and hope.
