WHAT IS WRITE FOR RIGHTS? For over 20 years, Amnesty International’s annual Write for Rights campaign has transformed the lives of people whose rights have been wronged. Using the power of their words, hundreds of thousands of Write for Rights supporters in more than 200 countries have united behind a common purpose: together, we can change lives for the better.
In 2024, join us in Room 6, on Saturday Dec 7th any time between 9am and noon, to write letters defending 9 individuals whose human rights are being abused by the authorities in their countries.
This is an important Advent activity of hope and peace. Cases and sample letters provided. Help is available. Please bring stamps. The postal strike will end at some point and the letters can be mailed at that time. Letters may also be written at home, and we will provide sample letters and case studies after church the following Sunday. If you prefer to work with your computer, the cases are available at amnesty.ca including petitions that you can sign and submit. We can give these people hope.
